While Photoshop has been available for iPads for quite a while now, it’s only today spread to iPhones as well. And if you have an Android phone, Photoshop will reach your device too at some point later in the year. If you’re impatient, you can sign up here and Adobe will let you know the second the Android beta version drops.

Photoshop for iPhone is free to download and has some free to use features, but if you want more you will of course need to pay up. For this purpose, Adobe has created a new “Mobile & Web” plan, which is available through Apple’s App Store systems. As the name implies, this will give you access to premium features both on iPhone as well as the web.

If you already have a Photoshop desktop subscription, Photoshop on iPhone and Photoshop on the web are included. Speaking of the web, Photoshop has now expanded its availability to Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge.

So, here’s what you get on the iPhone for free:

  • Create unique designs and images by combining, compositing and blending images with core Photoshop tools and features, including precise selection tools, unlimited layers and masks.
  • Remove, recolor or replace part of an image after making a selection using the intuitive Tap Select tool.
  • Brush away spots in seconds with advanced removal tools like the Spot Healing Brush.
  • Speed up and simplify complex edits with powerful generative AI tools that are safe for commercial use, like Generative Fill and Generative Expand.
  • Make advanced edits in Photoshop, then bring your cloud PSDs into Adobe Express and Adobe Fresco and even edit Adobe Lightroom photos in Photoshop on iPhone.
  • Edit with flexibility, using non-destructive unlimited layers, selective adjustments and the PSD format.
  • Import and export images while preserving file fidelity and image quality with full-resolution editing.
  • Add, replace and create with a vast library of hundreds of thousands of free Adobe Stock assets.

The Mobile & Web plan is $7.99 per month or $69.99 per year. Here are the extras this unlocks on your iPhone:

  • Easily remove objects by brushing over them with Remove Tool, use Clone Stamp to hide unwanted objects by cloning areas of an image, and seamlessly fill portions of an image with content sampled from other parts of the image with Content-Aware Fill.
  • Quickly and precisely select people, plants, cars and more with enhanced precision using Object Select or isolate an object or area of an image and adjust it with targeted editing tools with Magic Wand.
  • Control transparency, color effects and add unique styles to images with Advanced Blend Modes.
  • Explore different typefaces and styles by accessing more than 20,000 fonts or importing your own.
  • Export assets for a broad range of print quality and compression possibilities and use additional file formats (PSD, TIF, JPG, PNG).

Additionally, you get the ability to seamlessly pick up where you left off with files that automatically sync between your iPhone and the web, and on the web you can access “even more powerful features” like “Camera RAW filter, shapes, layer effects, Quick Actions, generative AI features like Generate Similar, Reference Image and more”. You can also seamlessly add or remove content from images using Generative Fill or extend images with Generative Expand, non-destructively. You also get Text to Image AI.
