Apple is now seeding its third beta release for iOS 18.3, iPadOS 18.3, and macOS Sequoia 15.3. With iOS 18.3 Beta 3, Apple is bringing a few changes to Apple Intelligence, including disabling notification summaries for News and Entertainment apps. This appears to be a temporary measure as Apple looks to fix its notoriously bad summaries. Notification summaries are expected to be reinstated with future iOS updates.
Users can also disable notification summaries directly from the Lock Screen on a per-app basis. Apple is also changing notification summaries, which now appear in an italicized font so they are clearly distinguishable from regular notifications.

Alongside the notification summaries changes, Apple is bringing bug fixes and a few minor tweaks to the Camera Control button, messages and PDF editing. iPhone 16 models with the Camera Control button now feature a renamed “Lock Focus and Exposure” toggle, replacing the AR/AF Lock toggle. Messages get a new Genmoji option from the “+” button.

Apple is expected to launch the final version of iOS 18.3 later this month.
