Oppo is working on another A5 smartphone, and this one is coming with a huge battery. The device was spotted in hands-on photos, where the model number was seen, allowing us to find the device on TENAA.
The images and the listing revealed a 6,500 mAh battery (6,330 mAh minimal rate, split into two cells) and a 6.7” AMOLED panel.
This is the third Oppo A5 we have encountered, after the one launched in 2018, followed by another one from 2020. The Oppo A series is incredibly popular at home, covering a large price spectrum from ultra-cheap entry-level phones to solid midrangers.
Here, the device will borrow the A5 Pro‘s front panel with Full HD+ resolution and an FP scanner under the display, while at the back, we have a dual 50 MP + 2 MP camera combination on a squircle island.
The major difference here will be the Snapdragon 695 chipset with just a 2.2 GHz CPU, while the battery will support 45W fast wired charging. Oppo occasionally launches an A series outside China, and we expect this A5 to appear at home first.
