Introduction and specs

Samsung’s 2025 Fan Edition smartphone is here, aiming to deliver a more affordable alternative to the Galaxy S series while retaining much of the flagship experience. The Galaxy S25 FE may seem very similar to its predecessor, but this year’s model moves a step closer to the Galaxy S25+ in terms of hardware and features.

The Galaxy S25 FE now comes with the full Exynos 2400 chipset instead of the cut-down 2400e, a slightly larger battery, faster 45W charging to match the S25+, a new front-facing camera, and an upgraded armor aluminum frame for improved durability.

At the same time, the FE still has an excellent 6.7-inch LTPO OLED display with high brightness, a familiar triple-camera setup, and Samsung’s signature design. Overall, this year’s Fan Edition feels closer than ever to a regular Galaxy S model, particularly the S25+.

The Galaxy S25 FE and S25+ share nearly identical displays, camera hardware, and battery with matching charging speeds. The Galaxy S25+ holds a slight edge in processing power and, at least on paper, promises a marginally better camera experience.

For those seeking a more attainable entry into Samsung’s flagship lineup, the Galaxy S25 FE presents a strong option. That said, alternatives from other brands in the same price bracket are also worth considering, particularly if you are not set on owning a Samsung device.

Let’s take a closer look at what’s new and what has stayed the same.

Unboxing the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE

The Galaxy S25 FE arrives in a standard retail box containing the usual documentation and a USB-C to USB-C cable for charging and data transfer.

As expected, a charger is not included in the package. To take advantage of the full 45W charging speed, Samsung’s own 45W adapter is the recommended option since it supports the required Power Delivery PPS profile and arrives with a 5A cable. Certain third-party PD chargers may also work, but compatibility with the specific PPS profile used here needs to be verified.
