At MWC TCL introduced two new phones from its 60 series. The duo consists of the TCL 60 SE that comes with a Nxtpaper 4.0 screen and the TCL 60 R, which are both entry-level smartphones.
TCL 60 SE Nxtpaper 5G • TCL 60 R 5G
The 60 SE variant has a 6.7″ screen with HD+ resolution and up to 120 Hz refresh rate. Its Nxtpaper display has an anti-glare coating and three modes to help reduce the eye strain during reading. One of them is called Max Ink Mode, which offers up to 7 days of reading due to its low power consumption.
TCL equipped the 60 SE with some AI features that are developed in partnership with Microsoft. The phone also packs 50 MP and 5 MP shooters on the back.
TCL 60 SE Nxtpaper 5G comes with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. The price is set at €189 and the phone will be available in Europe, Asia Pacific, and Latin America.
TCL 60 R has similar display specs – 6.7″ with HD+ resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate, but no Nxtpaper technology. It has Nxturbo, which is a hardware booster that provides faster app launch, smoother image loading, and an enhanced scrolling experience.
The phone has a “high-speed 5G chipset,” but TCL declined to reveal any more details. It comes with a 50 MP main camera and an 8 MP selfie shooter, and the battery is listed as 5,200 mAh. One feature fans of such affordable devices will love is the enhanced splash resistance.
TCL 60 R 5G comes with 4 GB RAM (expandable to 12 GB) and 128 GB ROM. It costs €119 and will sell in Europe, Asia Pacific, and Latin America.
