With 2024 behind us, it’s a great time to go through all the phones we’ve tested this year and round up the ones with the best speakers this year. We’ve also shortlisted the tablets with the best-sounding speakers too.
We pulled out the data from the 110 reviews we produced in the past 2024 and listened to each phone’s recording. We shortlisted the best-sounding phones in five categories. You will definitely notice a difference in sound quality across the categories, as it’s greatly influenced by size, form factor and even price.

Keep in mind that you won’t find all the phones we tested on the following pages, as there’s no room for all of them. However, we’ve shortlisted the best ones, so you don’t have to dig deep. You can always remove some phones from the lists and add others to hear how they compare.
Let’s begin with the foldables.
The top speakers among foldables
Three of this year’s foldable phones stood out above the rest. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 has the best sound among this year’s foldables. It offers the nicest speakers with deep, warm sound and prominent bass without muffling vocals and highs. The handset delivers generally clean sound, albeit not very loud.
The Motorola Razr 50 Ultra easily takes the second spot despite being a clamshell foldable, which tends to have worse speakers due to design/size constraints. The Motorola Razr 50 Ultra impresses with exceptionally loud speakers with minimal distortion. Tracks sound generally clean with a decent amount of bass.
The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold takes the third spot in our best speakers ranking for foldables. The bass isn’t as impressive, but overall sound quality is very good, with nice vocals in particular.
