After launching the HyperOS 2 in October and the 2.1 version in December, and the global version in February, Xiaomi is poised to roll out the company’s succeeding major feature update, the HyperOS 2.2. The Chinese tech company continues to develop the operating system through regular feature drops, just the same manner in which Google’s Pixel phones are doing.
What Do We Know About HyperOS 2.2
Xiaomi is treating the 2.1 and 2.2 updates as feature drops, and the company’s focus is to roll out major upgrades to the overall experience. While the 2.1 version included some additional animations and visuals, the future features in the 2.2 version are unknown.
The company already uses the latest version, HyperOS 2.2, in different flagship models, and the build numbers are the following

Android 15 integration
One of the most significant details about the upcoming update is the fact that the HyperOS 2.2 will be based around Android 15, suggesting a significant platform overhaul. Despite the testing period already having kicked off, there’s no confirmation if the update will be released in March.
The previous updates to HyperOS have shown the dedication to enhancing the experience through frequent addition and optimization of features. This trend follows the current practices in software development, whereby frequent updates are released to provide continuous improvement in comparison to the huge yearly updates.
